Espressif’s AWS IoT ExpressLink module (ESP32-C3-MINI-1-N4-A) is based on the ESP32-C3 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 5 (LE) SoC, which provides host MCUs with out-of-the-box, seamless, AWS IoT connectivity, while also implementing the AWS IoT ExpressLink specification.
ESP32-C3-MINI-1-N4-A has a simple serial interface through which the host MCU gets connected to AWS IoT services, thus transforming any offline product into a Cloud-connected product. Espressif’s AWS IoT ExpressLink Module handles complex, yet undifferentiated, workload, such as authentication, device management, connectivity, messaging and OTA. Thus, it relieves developers from developing and maintaining complex firmware, while it provides end-to-end security and fleet management at scale.
Software Features
Pre-Provisioned
Espressif's AWS IoT ExpressLink modules are pre-provisioned with the required certificates and can readily connect to the AWS IoT Core service. This greatly reduces manufacturing complexity.
Pre-Programmed
Espressif's AWS IoT ExpressLink modules come pre-programmed with the ExpressLink firmware, reducing production time significantly. This firmware is managed by Espressif, so customers need not worry about subsequent updates.
Connectivity
Espressif's AWS IoT ExpressLink modules provide out-of-the-box connectivity to AWS IoT Core and a host of other AWS IoT services.
Messaging
Espressif's AWS IoT ExpressLink provides MQTT publish-subscribe messaging using a simple interface, but none of the complexities of the MQTT protocol.
Wi-Fi Configurability
The initial Wi-Fi configuration on Espressif's AWS IoT ExpressLink modules can be done securely using Espressif’s open-source provisioning apps, which are available on Android and iOS.
OTA
Espressif's AWS IoT ExpressLink has built-in support for carrying out over-the-air upgrades for both its own firmware (FOTA) and the host (HOTA) by providing a simple interface to the host.
Simple Protocol
Espressif's AWS IoT ExpressLink provides a simple set of AT commands for accessing all of its features.

ESP32-C3-AWS-ExpressLink-DevKit
The ESP32-C3-AWS-ExpressLink-DevKit is a development board that hosts Espressif’s AWS IoT ExpressLink module. It can be used with an external host MCU for easy evaluation and prototyping. The pin layout of ESP32-C3-AWS-ExpressLink-DevKit is compatible with that of the Arduino Zero development board and, therefore, it can be directly plugged into the Arduino Zero board, or be easily connected to other host MCUs, such as the Raspberry Pi.
